The heart of any crisis management program is the crisis management plan document. This document pins down in writing the central facts of the plan and guides the crisis management team in responding to an incident. The written plan sets forth the critical steps of the company’s crisis response plan. It is the playbook the CM team uses to guide it in managing the crisis.
